Mumbai, previously known as Bombay, is the fourth most populous city in the world. Mumbai has always been every Indians urban dream, due to its highest GDP in India. Mumbaikars as they as often said, they are always on the move and spend a considerable amount of time travelling from one part of the city to another. The culture of Mumbai is cosmopolitan and diverse, people from all over India have settled here. Mumbai itself blends together with different languages, cuisines, fine arts, cinema and festivals. Every Mumbaikar is passionate about local street food, cricket and the big celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Eid and Christmas. Mumbai is also known as the film city of India. Mumbai being the financial capital of India, people from all over the country come here for jobs and make their careers.    

Language

Marathi is the official language of the megacity of Mumbai. Marathi is also the mother tongue of local Maharashtrians. Other languages spoken here in Mumbai are Hindi, English, Urdu and Gujrati. Although there are many languages spoken in Mumbai but Hindi, Marathi and English are primarily spoken.

Financial capital
Mumbai has always been the financial capital of India. All the major banks in India have their head offices here. It is also home to important financial institutions in India such a Reserve Bank of India, Bombay Stock Exchange and corporate headquarters of many Indian Companies and corporations.

Cuisine

Every Mumbaikar is very passionate about local cuisine. Mumbai is a very diverse city, people from all over the country come here and settle down and make the city their own. While coming from all over, they bring their cuisine with them. Mumbai is very famous for street food Vada pav, Missal pav, Pani puri, Sev puri and many more. South Indian, Mughlai and Punjabi. Many restaurants in Mumbai serve European and South-east Asian cuisine nowadays. 

Religions

Mumbai has always been the city of many faiths. There is a rapid growth of migrants from various communities in Mumbai. Most people in Mumbai are various mix of Hindus, Muslims, Jains Christians and Buddhists. Due to cultural diversity, religious celebrations and secularism go hand in hand.

As Mumbai is home to Bollywood industry, Bollywood music is most popular in the city. Mumbai is always produced renowned classical musicians, like Zubin Mehta who always calls Mumbai as his home. Cricket itself is a religion in India, Mumbai boasts of giving many of legendary batsmen to the world. Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and many more cricketing legends belong to Mumbai. Mumbai Indians is one of the biggest IPL franchise today in India. Other than cricket other games are also promoted especially Football, hockey and Badminton.

Real estate in Mumbai is very highly-priced. In comparison to property rates in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai real estate is bit low priced. Accommodation in Navi Mumbai is better planned than Mumbai. Due to IT hubs in Navimumbai, prices of real estate are on a steady rise. Professionals working in IT companies are forefront in buying residential accommodation. People in Mumbai are very helpful in nature and hardworking. Mumbai has been called as the city that never sleeps. The people in Mumbai are very well cultured, modern and are passionate about the city. Coming from different backgrounds and different parts of the country, still, they mix up with each other very easily.
